April 2, 2011 is Global Youth Service Day, an annual celebration of youth from over 120 different countries who are volunteering in their communities. There are 4 project locations in Sacramento: Shasta Park, George Sims Community Center, Swainson’s Hawk Park, and Fisherman’s Lake. Projects include park beautification and cleanup, assembling hygiene packets for a local homeless shelter, crafting greeting cards for seniors, and more.

Bring your unwanted, outdated legal medications to be disposed of properly. NO questions asked! Please note that needles will NOT be accepted.
Proper disposal of medications keeps these hazardous materials out of our landfills and waterways.
This event will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Sheriff’s Department Central Division, 7000 65th Street, Sacramento.
