Doggy Donations Needed for Wounded Vets

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Dept. Central Division is collecting donations for our wounded combat troops.  These donations will go to The Pathway Home at Yountville, an independent, nonprofit organization that relies on donations from individuals for the care of service members who return from Iraq and Afghanistan with serious combat related injuries.    The Pathway Home recently adopted a Military Service Dog program.
Items needed:  laundry soap, shampoo, grooming items, nonperishable foods, healthy snack foods, unopened bottles of vitamins (glucosamine, vitamin C, vitamin B complex, fish oil, etc.), protein bars/powders, coffee, tea, note books, journals, sweats, socks, batteries (AAA, AA, C, D), tough dog toys (tug toys, fetch toys), healthy dog treats (NO dog food), or anything else you think a wounded warrior or their dog may enjoy.
Donated items will be accepted at the Central Division Station at 7000 65th Street, Sacramento, during normal business hours.  If you're unable to drop-off, you can call Crime Prevention Specialist Laura Grossman at 916-876-8322 to arrange for a special pick up.
You may also make cash donations directly through the official PATHWAY website at www.thepathwayhome.org.

Celebrate Dads & Grads to Support Our Cause

Looking for the perfect gift for your special
Dad or Grad?

We'll take the stress out of your shopping at www.igive.com/FlorinRoadFoundation

It's FREE and easy to sign-up.  Searching or Shopping means a donation and there's a $5 bonus for your first purchase at over 921 stores like Amazon, eBay, Expedia, Pottery Barn, QVC and many, many more. Plus you SAVE money with exclusive coupons and free shipping.

These donations do add up and help offset our operational expenses.  And many of our Florin Road corridor merchants participate in the program! Several stores allow you to place your order online and then quickly pick-up at the store when it's convenient for you.  That's a great way to save time and avoid the hassle of standing in long lines.

As a small non-profit, the best part of the igive.com program is that we don't have to pay any fees to participate.  And you won't pay extra to participate, either. The donations come from the stores you search or shop.  It's really a win-win for everyone.  So give it a try today and let us know what you think of the program.  Happy Shopping!
