School Supply Drive for Foster Kids

All children should have the school supplies they need to feel confident and prepared in the classroom. Unfortunately, for over 60,000 California foster kids, a sudden change of homes can mean starting over at a new school without the tools they need to succeed.

You can help local foster children get a positive start to the school year — bring your gift of new backpacks, paper, pens, art supplies, binders and more to a Sleep Train store, or donate online today at http://www.sleeptrainfosterkids.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=cms.page&id=1010.

Save the Date! Beach Blanket Bingo Is Back

The Florin Road Foundation's Beach Blanket Bingo fundraiser returns for its 12th year on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Florin Road Bingo (2350 Florin Road, Sacramento). Doors will open earlier this time (at 5:00 pm) so you can check out the prizes and get your lucky seat. The event will run from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Admission for adults ages 18+ includes a buffet dinner and dessert by Hannibal's Catering, nonalcoholic beverages, all bingo game materials, door prize entry, and a goody bag. Raffle tickets will also be sold at the event. A cash bar staffed by The Bolt Bar will be available for guests ages 21+.
