Online Homework Help from the Experts

How cool is this?  You can get live online homework help from a tutor, submit your writing and receive expert assistance, even get live help for your foreign language homework.  Wow, we wish this service was available when we were growing up!

And it's so easy to use...just go to the Sacramento Public Library's website at http://www.saclibrary.org/?pageId=132. Then click on the Homework HelpNow! icon.  That will take you to the long-in screen where you need to type your library card number and accompanying pin code.  Don't have a pin code?  Not a problem!  You can get one through that webpage.

Now you have no excuses for not doing your homework!

What to Do with that Old, Stinky Shoe?

The sun is shinin', the birds are singin',
and somethin' is stinkin' up the back of your closet.

Time for Spring Cleaning!

Take your old, worn-out athletic shoes to the 4th Annual Nike ReUSE A SHOE Program.  They'll be recycled into playing surfaces like synthetic soccer fields, running tracks, and basketball courts.

You can donate at any Elk Grove fire station, the Wackford Community & Aquatic Center, Laguna Town Hall, or Elk Grove City Hall.  Students can also donate shoes using the special collection bins on their campuses from April 4th through April 29th.

Did you know it takes up to 20,000 pairs of athletic shoes to make a mini-soccer field; 2,500 pairs for an outdoor basketball court; and 75,000 pairs for a running track?  So please be generous with your donations!

This program is a collective effort by Allied Waste, the Elk Grove Unified School District, Nike, and the City of Elk Grove.
